A Tango alternative for Edge, with no account

Updated

Takelight turns your clicks in a browser tab into a written step guide. The free plan keeps ten guides, and there is no account to open.

Needs Edge 116 or newer. No account.

What Tango's free plan allows as of September 2026

Tango's free plan is 5 shared workflows, and its help center explains the 5 workflow limit warning. Tango Pro is $22 per user per month, and annotating or blurring screenshots is Pro only. These are the figures Tango publishes.

What Takelight does instead

Click the Takelight icon on the tab where the task starts, press Start guide, and do the task. Every click, typed field and page change becomes a step with a screenshot and a title such as Click "Save changes". What you type is never read or saved.

Where Tango may suit you better

This page compares only what Tango states on its pricing page and in its help center. It says nothing about the rest of Tango, so check Tango's own pages for anything else you need.

Takelight has no shared workspace, no seats and no share link. A guide lives on your computer. You copy up to 5 steps into Google Docs or Notion, export it as Markdown with images or one HTML file, or on Pro as a PDF or a Word file. If a team needs to open one guide from one link, Takelight will not do that. Its guides also come only from browser tabs, so a desktop app is out of reach, and text inside images is not blurred.

What free means here

Free means guides with no account, kept up to ten, that you copy into Docs or Notion up to 5 steps or save as Markdown or HTML. Pro keeps any number of guides and adds video recording, PDF and Word files, handbooks, auto-zoom and burned-in captions. Pro is €39 for 6 months, €69 for a year or €139 for Pro forever. You get 7 days of Pro, free. Every row is in the pricing table.

Try it on one workflow

  1. Install Takelight from Edge Add-ons, then open the first page of a workflow you explain often.
  2. Press Start guide, then click through the workflow.
  3. Press Stop guide. Fix the titles and copy the guide into your doc.

The SOP walk-through shows each of these with screenshots. Coming from another tool? See the Scribe alternative page.

Make a guide without an account

Install is free. The first guide takes one run through the task and a few minutes of tidying.
